WELCOME Dear friends, Welcome to the Chicago Chapter of NACOPRW. This chapter was founded in 1973 and has worked to promote the participation of Puerto Rican and Latinas in the social and political life of the city and the nation. Together women have made enormous changes to this society and we have been present. Women are better represented in sports and in careers that were only available to men. Some of you may remember of how back in the 1970’s classified “Help Wanted” ads were divided in two separate sections--- one was for men and the other was for women. Well the changes we see today did not come easy. It is not easy to give up some of our personal time to do something that can improve the quality of life for others outside our families but by doing so we also benefit. This is why we invite you to join our Chicago Chapter. Help us strengthen the identity and work of Puerto Rican Women and our Latina friends.
